SAY WHAT?!?!?!? for 2008
What our leaders and people of influence sometimes say is sometimes amazing. Here are some examples.
I'll try to post a new quotation every week or so.
Source
| Jackie Chan
Actor, action choreographer, filmmaker, comedian, producer, martial artist, screenwriter, entrepreneur, singer and stunt performer.
|
Quote
"I'm not sure if it's good to have freedom or not. I'm gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we're not being controlled, we'll just do what we want."
|
Said April 18, 2009 during a speech to Hainan business leaders at a Chinese business forum.

Comment: What a disappointment! Mr. Chan has enjoyed a rich and satisfying life, yet he's totally unaware that the source of his success, wealth, and happiness is freedom! What a pity he does not have the insight of Ralph Waldo Emerson, who wrote in 1867: "For what avail the plow or sail, Or land or life, if freedom fail?"

| Christine Varney
Lawyer lobbyist, internet policy expert, and personnel counsel for the Obama-Biden Transition Project. She serves in the Obama administration as Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust at the Department of Justice.
|
Quote
"The recent developments in the marketplace should make clear that we can no longer rely upon the marketplace alone to ensure that competition and consumers will be protected."
|
As stated in a Department of Justice press relears.

Comment: So, if we do as Ms. Varney suggests, and throw capitalism under the bus, what will be our system of economics? Well, it will be socialism, communism, or fascism. Or some combination thereof. (Varney apparently ignores the fact that these three economic systems have failed miserably everywhere they've been tried!)

| Khalid Al-Mansour
Author, lawyer, orthodox Muslim, black nationalist, top advisor to a key Saudi official, mentor to the Black Panther Party, and outspoken enemy of Israel.
|
Quote
"The white people don't feel bad. Whatever you do to them they deserve it. God wants you to do it. And that's whether you cut out their nose, cut off their ears, take flesh out of their body. Don't worry. God wants you to do that."
|
Said in a recorded address as documented in a YouTube video.
Source: The YouTube video titled "Obama & Friends History of Radicalism," of a Sean Hannity special aired on FOX News October 2008.

Comment: According to Manhattan Borough President Percy Sutton, in comments videotaped with a local New York City news station, Dr. Al-Mansour got in touch with him in an effort to help Barack Obama get into Harvard Law school. If that's true, then it appears Barack Obama is indebted to a known radical extremist for underwriting the expense of some or all of his Harvard education. I wonder how Mr. Obama plans to repay Dr. Al-Mansour for the financial assistance.
